Welcome to the Jackson State Community College Bookstore.  We are a local bookstore serving the students, faculty and staff of Jackson State Community College. Our primary goal is to ensure students are able to obtain the course materials they need at reasonable prices. We also provide many other items to support your academic career and school spirit.

Frequently Asked Questions at YOUR campus bookstore:

Q: Can I use my pell check or scholarship money at the bookstore?

A: Yes, once you have received your check from the business offices bring it to the bookstore.  Gather the materials that you will need for the upcoming semester and when checking out hand the sales associate your check.  The left over money will be given to you in cash.

Q: Can I purchase school supplies with my financial aid money?

A: If you are using federal financial aid or scholarship monies then you can purchase whatever you would like in the bookstore.  If you are sponsored by an agency such as TN Department of Employment Security or Vocational Rehabilitation then there are restrictions which you can ask any sales associate about.

Q: Can I purchase books online for upcoming classes?

A: Yes, log onto www.jsccbooks.com in the drop down box listed “Select A Campus Term” select whatever semester you will be attending.  Next select your course..for example DSPM = Developmental Studies Math. Next your course number and section number all of which are located on your course schedule.   Once you have selected all of your course info the textbook info will be listed.  The information shown will be Title, Author, ISBN, New and Used Price. If you wish to purchase the new book then select your quantity and NEW and click the add selected books to cart button. At this point you can proceed to check out using a Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express. You can have the books shipped to your house or you can pick them up at the main bookstore location.

Q: When can I sell my books back?

A: We buy books back all year.  You can visit www.jsccbooks.com and enter the ISBN number (on the back or first couple of pages) and see how much your book is worth.  You can also bring it into your campus bookstore and a sales associate will be happy to check it.

Q: How do I know if I purchase my books I will be able to sell them back?

A: There are a couple of rules with this question. A. Access Codes, Loose Leaf books and any type of software are not bought back.  Access codes are generally used once per one student, loose leafs are impossible to see if pages are missing.  As for textbooks you can always go to www.jsccbooks.com and check buying information. This can change daily.

Q: Is a student ID required to purchase or sell books back?

A: Yes, you can be asked at ANY time to present a student ID OR current student schedule to a sales associate.  This helps the integrity of inventory control and loss prevention issues.  If you do not have any of the items listed above you can speak with a manager at the campus bookstore.
